ABOUT OUR PRACTICE
We are a Vinyasa Yoga studio
Vinyasa-style yoga is where there is a dynamic flow from pose to pose. Each movement is aligned and linked with the breath so that you move with each inhale and exhale. The foundation of this style of practice is forging a connection between body, mind and soul. Teaching us to be present whilst being physical and sometimes challenged.
By integrating body, breath, movement, and meditative awareness, we aim to teach an understanding of the interdependency of these aspects in our personal health and wellbeing.
CLASSES WE OFFER

MOVE FASTER, FEEL STRONGER
These classes are faster, more dynamic and athletic flowing practices. Typically these sequences syncs one breath to one movement. This class is a stronger practice with more dynamic poses and you will raise a sweat!
They are both a challenge, but there are plenty of options for less seasoned practitioners. The focus is to maximise feelings of vitality, energy and freedom of movement.
Power Yoga has many qualities and benefits, including building internal heat, increased stamina, strength, and flexibility, as well as stress reduction.
Vinyasa Flow is similar to Power with a little less emphasis on athleticism and will offer you vibrant and free flowing vibe .
OPEN YOUR BODY & HIT RECHARGE
This class is a slower flowing practice. We focus on finding healthy alignment to suit your body. This is a more rejuvenating style aimed to open the body, work on joint stability and flexibility. This is not a sweaty practice, but you will move consistently.
If you’ve not practiced before, this is the perfect place to start. And if you’re a seasoned campaigner, this is a great class to add into your weekly routine to break the habit of ‘hard and fast’ and focus on length and space.
All of the classes at Yoga One Nine coordinate breathing and physical movement, improve focus and concentration, and help participants regain control of their body and mind.
RECRUIT YOUR CORE STRENGHT
This class is suitable to all levels and is focused on strengthening your core muscles while also training your arms and legs, assisting with posture and pelvic floor strength and joint stability.
You will develop your pilates knowledge to practice in a safe and efficient manner and take your practice to the next level.
FLOW AND BREATHE
This is our medium paced flow class.
We may hold a little longer in some poses than in our Power classes but we don't quite slow it down and take modifications like we do in our Slow Flow classes.
This is a great general class and there are loads of options for all levels.
And you never know, we may even learn a new pose or two along the way as the pace of this class allows exploration!
REST AND REJUVENATE
Yin Yoga is all about slowing down! This class consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body - the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine. These areas are especially rich in connective tissues.
The poses are held from two to five minutes and this is the ideal class to balance out the yang (the go-go-go) in our lives. It's great to soothe sore bodies, we go deeper in meditation during poses and it's really calming for the soul.
BABY IT'S HOT IN HERE
Be prepared to get sweaty in this one! We dial up the heat inside and outside our body. We'll move in a flowing style where the pace varies based on the sequence but the room is warmed to 30-32 degrees.
Hot Yoga is soothing, it improves flexibility as the body is warm, it's a challenge for your mind and your body and it feels detoxifying thanks to all the sweat. We love it!
